It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to create her most recent brilliance.

Whether this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it's been a disappointing period because I feel like my form was missing at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive instincts take over and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and after that Healy was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the confidence to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this World Cup need to hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

However although she later admitted those physical issues have postponed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is likely to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as skipper.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
